Welcome to the 2023-24 School year.

My name is Mrs. Mattoon and I will be teaching your student in  History this school year in 6th and 8th Grade.  I also direct the school 6-8th grade advent service and the 6-8th grade musical.

 

I have been teaching for 35 years at St. Paul's. I spent my first 12 years in Kindergarten and Music and my next 22 have been in sixth grade and the wonderful addition of the school musical.

I am blessed to be part of the St. Paul's family, and my own family includes my husband Steve who is currently a K-8 PE teacher at Salem Lutheran. My children include Joshua, Melo, Shelby, and my new son in law Brandon.

I did my undergraduate and graduate work at Christ College, now known as Concordia University Irvine.

I received my BA in Teaching in 1988 and my MA in Curriculum and Instruction in 90.

I work with new teachers as a mentor in the Induction Program though the Orange County Department of Education, Orange Unified and Concordia University.

I have increased my studies with classes in Common Core, Project Based Learning and Differentiated Instruction.

I love to go to the beach, read, go to movies, spend time with friends and family.
